What is Palliative Care?
Palliative care is medical care for people with chronic and/or serious illness. Care is focused on providing symptom and stress relief. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patients and their loved ones by providing comprehensive, or whole person, care. Palliative care is provided by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses and other specialists. This teams works together with a patient’s primary doctors in providing an extra layer of supportive care.
